The Turnbull Government should release its internal report into the death of a Work for the Dole participant in April this year.

The Turnbull Government should release its internal report into the death of a Work for the Dole participant in April this year.

At Senate Estimates today it was confirmed the report is complete and that Minister Michaelia Cash has seen it.

Minister Cash and the Department of Employment should detail what directions have been given to jobactive providers and hosts to improve work health and safety practices within the Work for the Dole program since the incident.

Based on the Minister and Department’s responses to Budget Estimates, there is little reason for the report to be withheld from public view.

The public should be confident that this federally funded program is being operated within strong workplace health and safety standards – and releasing the report will help achieve this aim.
